HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The strength of their regular season schedule was enough for the Highlander women's soccer team to earn an at-large bid to the NCCAA Division I Women's Soccer National Championship Tournament.
It will be the program's third-straight appearance at the event.
Houghton, who lost to Roberts Wesleyan College 1-0 in double overtime in the NCCAA East Region Final on Saturday, will be seeded No. 4 in the nine-team tournament that runs December 1-6 in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Highlanders (9-7-1) are pooled with #3 Campbellsville (Ky.) University (13-8-0) and #7 Point University (11-5-5). Both Campbellsville and Point received at-large berths, as well.
Houghton plays Point on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and then takes on Campbellsville on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
