HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton volleyball lost to Buffalo State, 3-1, and knocked off Alfred University by the same score to split two matches on day two of the Highlander Invitational on Saturday in the Nielsen Center.
The Highlanders started the day losing to Buffalo State (21-25, 16-25, 25-23, 19-25). Hattie Burgher finished with 14 kills and 16 digs. Laurel Wroblicky added 31 digs, while Anna Coryell chipped in with 31 assists and 12 digs.
Houghton wrapped up the tournament with a win over Alfred (25-7, 26-28, 25-8, 25-10). Naomi Prentice led the attack with 16 kills and added five blocks, defensively. Burgher added 11 kills and eight digs and Coryell had 34 assists and 10 digs. Wroblicky finished with 19 digs.
Wroblicky and Burgher earned all-tournament honors.
