Kerr-Pegula Field House

Kerr-Pegula Field House

Phase 3 of the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex is a field house that provides a competition-quality, eight-lane 200-meter indoor track, competition tennis courts, practice space for outdoor sports during inclement weather and a venue for other large campus and community events. The field house was completed in fall 2014.

The multipurpose field house provides a practice and competition venue for the tennis and track and field programs, while offering indoor practice space for outdoor sports over the winter and during inclement weather. It serves as a hub for the entire campus. State of the art fitness and weight training facilities, as well as the track and tennis courts are open to all faculty, staff and students. The facility also provides expanded opportunities for the university's highly popular intramurals program.

From an academic perspective, the facility allows for the expansion of activity courses offered through the Department of Physical and Health Education and the Department of Leisure Studies.

The facility also serves as a spacious venue for guest speakers, concerts, dinners and potentially the university commencement ceremonies. These non-athletics uses also present new opportunities to bring in groups and events from the surrounding communities of northern Allegany County and Western New York.

Bus Directions: Visiting teams should use the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex entrance off Route 19, located about 3/8 mile north of the main campus entrance and follow the signs to the field house (Key 17D on the Campus Map). Teams and equipment can be dropped off just outside the facility. Buses should not use the main university entrance for access to the field house. General Team Parking: Bus parking is available adjacent to the building, however, for multi-team track events (see below) or days when several sports are in action, buses will be directed to other facility or campus parking lots. Please contact the Houghton athletic department in advance and check with the on-site supervisor when you arrive to get more details on parking locations.

Team Parking for Multi-team Track Events: We are asking team vans and buses to enter the parking lot for the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex. Proceed through the entrance and immediately take a right into the parking lot adjacent to the Softball Stadium. Please park your buses in such a way that the rear of the bus is facing Rt. 19. The teams can unload at that point and proceed up the stairs along the Softball Tower to the Kerr-Pegula Field House.

Spectator Parking (UPDATE): We are asking visiting spectators to enter the parking lot for the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex (Key 17D - Campus Map).
