Houghton University softball split a pair of games on Friday during its spring trip, edging Baruch College
7–6 in the opener before falling
12–3 to Concordia University Chicago in the second game.
Game 1: Houghton 7, Baruch 6
The Highlanders rallied from an early deficit to secure a gritty one-run victory.

The Rally: Trailing 3-0 in the 2nd, Ella Christ hit a two-run triple, followed by a Sarah McArthur RBI single to tie the game.

The Lead: In the 3rd, Houghton loaded the bases. Phoebe Ruth drew a walk to score Hannah Fish. Kelley Burnett then delivered a clutch two-run double. Kareena Ulfig added the final run on a bases-loaded walk to make it 7-3.

Pitching: Abigail Pitts (1-0) started and earned the win, pitching 4.0 innings. Kareena Ulfig was perfect in relief, throwing 3.0 scoreless, hitless innings with three strikeouts to earn the save.
