HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- After claiming its first-ever Empire 8 championship, Houghton men's cross country has claimed several individual honors from the conference.

Amos Bixler, Caleb Kasper and Zachary Tucker were named All-E8 First Team, James Eustace and Sam Lyon earned second team honors, and Ben Allen was named to the third team. The honors are based on each individual's finish at the championship race.

Led by Head Coach Patrick Hager and assisted by Dillon Bell and Hayden Williamson, the Houghton coaches were named the E8 Coaching Staff of the Year. Hager led Houghton to its first Empire 8 Championship on Oct. 28 and an 11th place finish at the 2023 NCAA Niagara Region Championship two weeks later.

Tucker and Bixler also earned All-Niagara Region honors after their performances at that meet.

Kasper was also Houghton's selection to the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year team.
