The Houghton community is invited to the second annual "Christmas on the Court" celebration on Friday, December 6 in the Nielsen Center when the Highlander women's basketball team will host Hamilton College at 7 p.m.
The event is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and for students to take a break from classes and preparing for final exams.
Festivities will include a CAB Club giveaway, performances by the Houghton Cheerleaders, and multiple contests, including trivia and a "Guess-That-Christmas-Song" contest.
Fans are encouraged to wear their best Christmas attire, including their favorite ugly Christmas sweaters. Those who wear the best ugly Christmas sweaters will have the opportunity to compete for a number of prizes.
In preparation for the Christmas season, Houghton College Athletics will also partner with the PB&J Club, founded by men's basketball player Billy McCrae. Fans are encouraged to bring peanut butter, jelly, and bread to donate to the PB&J Club, which makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for needy women and children in partnership with St. Luke's Mission of Mercy in Buffalo, N.Y.
