The Houghton softball field was first used for collegiate competition in spring 2014 and offers a skinned infield and warning track and artificial turf outfield. This beautiful lighted facility is located just off Route 19, just below the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex field house, and features a three-story tower press box and a large spectator deck that offers great views of the entire field. Ample spectator parking is available on either side of the field.

The field measures 190 feet down each foul line and 220 feet to center field. The outfield features a six-feet tall fence.

Visiting Teams Served: Softball

Bus Directions: Visiting teams should use the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex entrance off Route 19, located about 3/8 mile north of the main campus entrance and follow the signs to the field house. Teams and equipment can be dropped off just outside the facility. Buses should not use the main university entrance for access to the field house. Also, Chamberlain Street is reserved for spectator access to Burke Field (track, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey) and the baseball field and should not be used by visiting team buses or vans. 

Parking: Bus parking is available adjacent to the building, however, for multi-team track events or days when several sports are in action, buses may be directed to other facility or campus parking lots. Please contact the Houghton athletic department in advance and check with the on-site supervisor when you arrive to get more details on parking locations.

Locker rooms: Visiting team locker rooms are available in the facility. Please check with the site supervisor upon arrival to see which room you have been assigned.

Dugouts: The Houghton Highlanders will occupy the first-base dugout for all home games. For any neutral- site contest held at Houghton, the team declared to bat at the bottom half of the inning will occupy the first-base dugout.

Batting Practice: Please check with head coach prior to arrival about the schedule for the day's contest. One batting tunnel is available upon request.

Tailgating: Tailgating is allowed in university parking lots. However, please remember that smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the Houghton campus.
