Houghton, N.Y. -- After taking a four-goal lead late in the contest, Houghton men's lacrosse was outscored 6-1 over the final six minutes to drop a 16-15 decision to Medaille College at home Saturday.
The Highlanders jumped ahead 3-0 over the first 10 minutes and led 6-2 after the first quarter. The Mavericks tightened up defensively and found some offense themselve in the second, outscoring the hosts 4-2 over the second 15 minutes.
Paul Chapman scored three goals for Houghton in the first half.
The third quarter was evenly played, with each team scoring twice, giving the Highlanders a 10-8 lead heading into the fourth.
